Short stories

 
You will find a series of short stories here about children who live under a variety of living conditions. Each story represents a geographic, economic, climatic or political reality. The fictional stories describe a segment of the daily life of a child in the relevant country and have special focus on specific living conditions, consumption patterns and resources.

Renata lies on her back with closed eyes in the soft moss. The grass smells of summer. A warm wind is blowing past. A flock of birds twitters in the branches of the trees.

Sayka presses the button and gets a little sinking feeling in her tummy as the lift goes up. The red numbers on the display change quickly....7,8,9,10, pliing! The door opens noiselessly.

Monica takes a seat next to her mother in the front seat of the silver-blue Mercedes. She fastens her seatbelt and pushes a button on the instrument panel.

Tuak lies completely still. He stares ahead at the edge of the ice. He breathes slowly. Even though he is covered in snow, he is not cold. The thick sealskin and the fur-lined boots keep his body warm.
